Casting For Recovery

Photos and Images
In November, 2002, Gene Hall of Wyoming asked if I would be willing to collect flies from other fly-tiers for the purpose of donating them to Casting For Recovery (CFR), a non-profit organization headquartered in Needham, Massachusetts, not too far from my home.  Gene posted a notice on the Web site bulletin boards of the Virtual Fly Shop and Fly Anglers On Line, and over the next six weeks eight fly-tiers each sent me one or two dozen flies.  Gene also sent along a nice Bristle-Tack fly box in which to collect the donations.  The box, pictured below with "group" photos and two close-up fly photos per tier, was then sent off to CFR.

If you would like to donate flies, please contact CFR.  Their mailing address and e-mail address can be found on their Internet home page.

With permission, the following mission statement and fishing photos are from the Casting For Recovery Web site:

"Casting For Recovery (CFR) provides fly-fishing retreats specifically tailored for women who have or have had breast cancer. We seek to enhance the lives of breast cancer survivors by providing retreats designed to promote and support mental and physical healing. We are committed to socioeconomic and cultural diversity."
